Golf Shoes with Metal Spikes Prohibited. Decision 33-1/14. Condition of Competition. Revised 2015-01-02.
IN DEPTH: From Decision 33-1/14: "The Committee may,in the conditions of a competition, prohibit the use of shoes with metal or traditionally designed spikes."

Golf Shoes with Metal Spikes Prohibited  
The use of shoes with metal spikes during the stipulated round is prohibited. Penalty: Match play - At the conclusion of the hole at which the breach is discovered, the state of the match is adjusted by deducting one hole for each hole at which a breach occurred; maximum deduction per round - Two holes.
Stroke play - Two strokes for each hole at which any breach occurred; maximum penalty per round - Four strokes. 
A player who uses shoes with metal spikes contrary to this condition of competition must, immediately upon discovery that a breach has occured, use shoes which are permitted. If the player fails to do so, he is disqualified.
